Who can get certified?
Anyone can get certified! The ability to perform CPR is based on body strength rather than age. Studies have even shown that children as young as nine years old can learn and retain CPR lifesaving skills.
How long do certification classes take?
Classes usually last up to 3 hours, but it can depend on the number of people in the class.
How long does a certification last?
All certifications are valid for 2 years, except for lifeguards. New York State requires lifeguards to re-certify every year.
How do I receive certification?
After the class, you will receive your certification by email through the American Heart Association and American Safety and Health Institute websites.
How many people can sign up for a class?
Up to 30 people can be taught in one class.
What type of certifications do you offer?
Scott Leogrande offers New York State Certifications for Coaches, BLS Healthcare Provider Certification through AHA, and Universal Basic First Aid through ASHI.

What is the rate for a certification class?
The CPR course will consist of adult, child and infant 1 & 2 rescue CPR, rescue breathing, AED training, relief of an airway obstruction (choking) individual.
Topics include bleeding emergencies, splinting techniques, sprains, strains, fractures, dislocations, care for medical emergencies such as seizures, shock, allergic reactions, diabetic emergencies, heat/cold Emergencies, etc.
